After 10 months of preps, the big day arrived. It was a beautiful, happy day and it wouldn’t be possible without my suppliers.
For other brides-to-be or for those who are just curious, here’s a rundown of our team:
1. Church - San Agustin Church
We chose San Agustin because not only is the place gorgeous, but its history appealed to us. It is the oldest church in the country, withstanding many natural catastrophes.
Because we got married in May, it was hot inside the church. I hope next time they put air conditioners.
Heads up to those eyeing San Agustin, every move you make there has a corresponding fee- marriage seminar, opening of door, top view shot, pictorial, etc etc.

2. Venue - The Peninsula Manila
At first, it was a toss between Pen and Manila Hotel. We like the charm of both venues. We ended up choosing Pen because it looks and smells newer and cleaner. We made the right choice.
I love the elegant lobby greeting you as soon as you enter the hotel.
Our account executive Christine gave excellent service! I had no problem dealing with her.
We had a five-course plated menu and a lot of people finished the heavy meals, which is a good indication that the food was yummy!
The executive suite we stayed in was spacious and had a beautiful view as well.
I’m so happy we chose Pen and it has now become my favorite hotel in Manila.

3. Bridal Gown - Lucy Chua
A lot of people are surprised when they find out my mother-in-law, Lucy Chua, made my bridal gown.
She used to design gowns full-time but is now concentrated in other ventures. Designing is her first love and she still does it from time to time.
I love the details and lace in my gown. They say the bridal gown speaks of the personality of the bride, and it sure does reflect who I am- pa-sweet, haha!

4. Entourage Gowns - Lucy Chua
How talented is my MIL that she even did the gowns of my entourage!
I wanted my friends to look and feel beautiful that day so I made sure they were comfortable with their dresses.
Don’t they look gorgeous? :)

5. Photo and Video - Nice Print
Nice Print is one of the top wedding photographers and videographers in the country. As such, they have a lot of clients. Nevertheless, the owner Charisse Tinio herself handled my account. She graciously answered my questions and even helped me source other suppliers.
The whole team of Nice Print including Bernie, Rupert and Paolo were such a joy to work with!
I worked with them from prenup-
To save the date video-
To the wedding day itself.
For the big day, I requested for more photos of candid moments and boy, did they deliver. Hubby and I are very pleased.

6. Event Stylist - 7Lily
This is the supplier that I do not regret booking and if given a chance, will book them again for another event.
Charo and Elaine of 7Lily gave us more than what we expected, and our expectations were high to begin with.
Let the pictures speak for itself.
Thanks again, 7Lily!

8. Hair and Makeup - Sabs Hernandez, Tony Dusich, Jeffrey Alejandro
Four days before the wedding, I had my hair colored blonde. For my hair cut and color, I trust Jeffrey Alejandro.
One of the most important things for me was my hair and makeup. Photos and videos are forever so I wanted to look perfect. I gave my complete trust to Sabs Hernandez and Tony Dusich since they are experts in the industry.
I didn’t even have a trial makeup, that’s how much I trusted them! My trust did not go to waste as they transformed me into a blushing bride.
The makeup artist and the hair stylist are the first suppliers you’ll see on the big day so make sure you jive with them well ‘coz it sets the tone and mood of the day. Sabs and Tony were such pleasure to work with, good vibes all the way! :)

9. Coordinator - Getting Married
I only got the On-The-Day coordination because I wanted to be hands-on with the preps. If I had known it would be stressful, I would have availed of full coordination instead, haha!
Kutchie, Rita and the whole team did a great job. I did not worry one bit on the day itself. They allowed me to just enjoy the day. Thanks so much, Getting Married. Good job! :)

10. Lights and Sound - Sensitivity
Sensitivity is known to be the best in the industry that’s why I got them. The owner, MeAnne, was kind and accommodating. The church sound system was good, even the lights at the venue was A-OK. However, the sounds at the reception faltered several times. I’m honestly disappointed. I do hope this is just an isolated case.

11. Invitation - Unifair
Unifair’s office doesn’t look very professional but my friends recommended them. I gave it a shot and I was surprised with their excellent and efficient service. They delivered ahead of time and when we lacked envelopes, they gave us extra with no charge. It was such a problem-free experience with Unifair. I highly recommend them.

12. Host - Francis Day
In case you didn’t know, I host as well. =) For my wedding day, I didn’t want to get a tv host. I wanted someone who host weddings all the time. TV, events or wedding hosting are different. I asked around for some recommendations and Francis’ name came up twice. If he was highly recommended by my suppliers, then he must be good. I booked him without even meeting him.
On the day itself, Francis was just what I wanted- natural, fun, respectable, spoke impeccable English, and had the voice of a DJ. Good job, Francis.
13. Hash Tag Photo
My husband had an idea of the guests taking photos of the wedding via their smart phones, uploading it on Instagram with the hash tag #JoeAndVal, and getting the print outs of the pictures at the reception area. It was a brilliant idea as a lot of guests took pictures of the celebration and even themselves.
Not only that, we also saw the wedding through their eyes. It was a success that at the end of the day, we had 500 photos on Instagram!

To add more sweetness to the event, GMA News TV covered our wedding. =)
It was such a beautiful and happy day. It was just less than 24 hours but I have memories to last me a lifetime. =)
